PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition excellent in processibility and capable of prohibiting generation of stains and corrosion on the surface of a processed product after processing by composing it of a specific amount of an alkylbenzene having a specific kinetic viscosity at a specific temperature. SOLUTION: The objective composition comprises 0.1-50 mass%, based on the whole composition, of an alkylbenzene having a kinetic viscosity of 1-60 mm2/s at 40 deg.C. Alkyl groups in the alkylbenzene can be linear or branched and are desirably 1-40C alkyl groups. The number of the alkyl groups is desirably 1 or 2, namely mono- and/or dialkyl benzene is desirable from the viewpoint of stability and availability. Further, the number average mol.wt. is desirably 100-340 in view of the effect in improvement of processibility. As the base oils for the lubricating composition for metal processing, there can be mentioned mineral oils, oils and fats and synthetic oils, and a mineral oil having an aromatics content of 20 vol.% or less is desirably employed. |
