PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ultrasonic welding method capable of efficiently welding members to be joined ultrasonically to each other in a simple structure and also to provide the most suitable joining members used in this method. SOLUTION: A joining member 1 is formed with a hole 10 into which an oscillator T is insertable. The oscillator T is inserted in the hole 10 of the joining member 1 and brought into contact with a thinly-formed bottom 10a, pressurizing it under a prescribed pressure against a member 2 to be joined. When an ultrasonic vibration is imparted by the oscillator T in this state, the vibration by the oscillator T is nearly directly given to the thinly formed bottom 10a of the joining member 1 positioned on the side of the member 2 to be joined, heating the joining face 3 of the members 1, 2 efficiently within the solid phase range at the melting temperature or below, diffusing the atoms mutually, and thereby welding the members 1, 2 together.
