PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device which can be easily operated by a user for printing-out each kind of data by detecting the absence of print paper, and displaying the message of an error state that print paper are absent on an image displaying means based on display data outputted for displaying a state that print paper are absent. SOLUTION: A microcomputer(CPU) 6 of a color video printer 1 for printing- out a video signal from a video equipment 4 outputs a signal for each kind of message including a no-paper state through a CRT control part 7, and this signal is displayed on the screen of a television monitor 3. When a user views this signal, and depresses a proper key of a key device 2, a message corresponding to the key is outputted to the CRT control part 7 again, and the corresponding message is displayed on the television monitor 3 by the CRT control part 7, and a control signal is outputted to each part by the CPU 6 so that the instruction of the key can be executed.
