PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alloy in which the refining of the cast structure can be attained while the formation of Fe crystallized protects is prevented and capable of improving workability at the time of hot rolling by incorporating specified amounts of Fe, P, Zn and Si into Cu. SOLUTION: This alloy is an alloy composed of, by weight, 1.5 to 2.5% Fe, 0.001 to 0.1% P, 0.01 to 1.0% Zn, 10 to 1000 ppm Si, and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities, where the most preferable amt. of Si to be added is 50 to 400 ppm. Fe is added for improving its strength and heat resistance, but, in the case of >=2.5%, coarse Fe crystallized productes are formed at the time of casting, and, in the case they remain in the product, bending and cracking are caused, and the defect in plating occurs. Si is added for refining the cast structure, but, in the case of <10 ppm, it is not sufficient for obtaining the effect, and, in the case of >=1,000 ppm, a saturating tendency is shown in the refining effect of the cast structure, and, moreover, the reduction of the electric conductivity is caused.
