PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum-packaging apparatus capable of packaging an article to be packaged in a thermally adhesive vacuum-packaging bag and sealing the bag in a vacuum state without bringing about the deterioration of a lubricating oil even in the case where the article contains a large amount of water vapor. SOLUTION: A vacuum-packaging apparatus heat-seals an opening of a thermally adhesive vacuum-packaging bag placed on a base by using a heat- sealing means after deaerating the interior of a vacuum chamber defined on the base so as to be put into a vacuum state with the aid of a vacuum pump 5. In this apparatus, a switch S3 for the warming-up operation of the vacuum pump 5 is provided for elevating a temperature of a lubricating oil in the vacuum pump 5. This warming-up operation switch S3 is used for causing the vacuum pump 5 to perform warming-up operation independently at the time of opening a lid and, when the warming-up operation switch S3 is turned ON, a relay X6 acts, and a warming-up operation timer TM3 is operated by a preset period of time, thus operating the vacuum pump 5.
