PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a synthetic resin foamed sheet excellent in moldability, rigidity or heat resistance and also excellent in steam and oxygen barrier properties. SOLUTION: A gas barrier synthetic resin foamed sheet wherein a gas barrier layer is provided on at least one surface of a foamed sheet base material comprising a resin compsn. containing 40-97 wt.% styrenic resin and 60-3 wt.% olefinic resin is excellent in moldability, rigidity, heat resistance, etc., by the action of the foamed sheet base material and excellent in steam and oxygen barrier properties by the action of the gas barrier layer. Therefore, this foamed sheet is suitable as a container material necessary for suppressing evaporation of moisture or oxidation.
