PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming method for an operation signal for operating a pressure medium supply pump in a brake system and the equipment therefor to avoid a delay in detection of capacity demand request, and a delay in response to gentle pressure reduction. SOLUTION: In an operating method for a pump 100 for supplying a pressure medium in a brake system and the equipment therefor, the formation of an operation signal for the pump 100, particularly, an input signal is a function for at least one condition. The formation of the input signal is the function of a pressure gradient value, particularly, that of pressure gradient from an accumulator 106. This allows compensation for disturbance, including a temperature influence on the pressure medium exerted as low pressure gradient. In observing high capacity demand request, namely, high pressure reduction, resulting in the presence of high pressure gradient, a value significantly lower than the lower limit threshold value is avoided.
