PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form ribs of the back plate of a plasma display panel in the lump, properly mass-productively efficiently, with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In forming a plurality of ribs 14 on a back-face glass board 11, a rib transcribing roll 30 is used which has grooves 31 mating with the ribs 14 and moves on the glass board 11, and a rib material 20 is injected into the grooves 31 and transcribed onto the glass board 11 by moving the roll 30, and thereby a plurality of ribs 14 are formed simultaneously.
