PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for seek tuning by judging the presence or absence of a broadcasting station when another frequency which is read from a broadcasting station name storage means is received, stopping seek tuning when the broadcasting station is detected and continuing seek tuning when it is not detected. SOLUTION: A frequency which is larger than a frequency received at present and is the nearest is obtained from a table stored in ROM 3. The reception of the frequency is indicated to PLLIC4. A station detection signal (a) from a reception circuit 5 is judged. When the station is present, a processing is terminated in the received state of the frequency. When the station is absent, the next frequency of the table of ROM 3 is obtained. When the frequency exceeds a stored frequency, the stored frequency is once set to a reception frequency. The reception of the obtained frequency is instructed to PLLIC 4. The station presence detection signal (a) from the reception circuit 5 is judged. When the station is present, the processing is terminated in a state where the frequency is received. When the station is absent, the reception processing of the frequency in a next step is executed.
