PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable resistor for improving the inserting performance of a driver for adjustment at the other side and for automatically adjusting the resistance value of a variable resistor, even when the position of the center of a driver groove and the position of the top end of a driver for adjustment at the other side are deviated at the time of automatically adjusting the resistance value of the variable resistor. SOLUTION: This variable resistor is provided with an included face 30 whose height is made gradually lower toward the central part of a driver groove 29 on the upper face of an operational shaft 26, and an inclined face 25 positioned on the extended line of the inclined face 30 of the operational shaft 26 in an upper case 18 whose height is made gradually higher from the operational shaft 26 side to the outside part of the upper case 18. Thus, a driver for adjustment at the other side can be efficiently interfit into the driver groove 29. As a result, it is possible to obtain a variable resistor for improving the inserting performance of the driver for adjustment at the other side.
