PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma address display device in which the decay time is easily controlled, a surplus write-in of data voltage is prevented, and data voltage can be written at a high speed and its driving method. SOLUTION: A discharge current is controlled so as to be reduced gradually by providing a discharge current control circuit switching a discharge current flowing in a plasma space to at least 30%. Thereby, the decay time can be easily shortened, and a surplus write-in of data voltage can be prevented. The discharge current control circuit can be easily achieved by controlling independently plural constant current circuits 31-33.
