PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding display of a speech recognition device allowing a speech instruction to be exactly and easily inputted to a speech recognition device for on-vehicle equipment. SOLUTION: This speech recognition device for on-vehicle equipment is provided with a sound analyzer part 2 for analyzing the waveform of a sound signal inputted from a microphone 1, a recognition processing part 3 to calculate similarity of the input pattern of the sound obtained by the sound analyzing part 2 to pre-stored standard patterns and output a recognition result, and a system control part 5 to receive the recognition result from the recognition processing part 3 and control and drive the functions of the on-vehicle equipment indicated by the sound instruction. Characters showing the sound instruction for operating the on-vehicle equipment are provided above an operating switch button or in the neighborhood thereof. Looking at the characters, a user can easily issues an sound instruction by providing the characters showing the sound instruction in the vehicle.
