PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous copolymer dispersoid which is made of a carboxylic acid-including polymer and can exhibit low viscosity over a wide pH range by the emulsion polymerization of a specific monomer mixture. SOLUTION: An aqueous copolymer dispersoid, having pref. 40-70 wt.% polymer solid content, is obtained by the emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising (A) 0.1-20 wt.% oligomer having unsaturated end group, expressed by formula I [N is a residue of formula II; M is a residue from an ethylenic unsaturated monomer; N and M are randomly situated in the oligomer; (m) is the total number of M and is 0-47; (n) is the total number of N and is 2-140; (n)+(m) is 3-150], (B) 80-99.9 wt.% at least two monomers selected from a 1-24C alcohol (meth)acrylate, a (meth)acrylamide and a vinyl ester of a 1-20C carboxylic acid, and (C) 0-10 wt.% other comonomer.
