PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cell for preventing zinc in a negative electrode mixture from being corroded by potassium hydroxide solution and preventing the potassium hydroxide solution from leaking with increasing pressure in the cell. SOLUTION: An air cell 1 has a negative electrode mixture containing zinc particles, potassium hydroxide solution and gelling agent, the negative electrode mixture using a crosslinking blanch type polyacrylic acid or its salt as the gelling agent and containing the gelling agent in an amount of 4-10% by weight per the potassium hydroxide solution and the negative electrode mixture containing lithium hydroxide in an amount of 0.1-1% by weight. |
