PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition containing inactive particles and having an extremely small spherical coarse particle content, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a film comprising the same. SOLUTION: This polyester composition contains inactive particles having an average particle diameter in a range of 0.005-0.2μm. Therein, the existence probability of spherical coarse particles having particle diameters of >=0.6μm and having a particle ratio (maximum diameter/minimum diameter ratio) in a range of 1.0-1.2 is <=-500/1,000,000 based on the inactive particles.
