PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a strong holding force with a simpler constitution by a clamping mechanism for fixedly holding an original plate at a plate cylinder in a stencil printer. SOLUTION: The clamping mechanism 10 comprises a clamp base 14 and a clamp piece 16. A clamping groove 18 parallel to an axis of a plate cylinder 12 is provided at the base 1, and the piece 16 can be contained in the groove 18. In the case of adhering an original plate 26, a master end is positioned to cover the groove 18, the end is pressed by the piece 16, and contained in the groove 18. Further, a following part of the original plate is folded to cover the piece 16, and then the original plate 26 is wound on the cylinder 12. The piece 16 is slid by a tension of the plate 26 in the case of winding the plate 26 on the cylinder 12, and the plate 26 is sandwiched fixedly between a left side of the piece 16 and a left side face of the groove 18.
