The adhesive element or strip comprises a base element (30) which by means of a bottom adhesive layer (32) is fixable to a material roll, and is partially covered by a cover element (31) joined to the base element by means of at least one adhesive element (33), and is joined to an end zone of the top coil (17) of the material roll by means of an adhesive layer (34). The adhesive element or strip comprises a base element (30) which by means of a bottom adhesive layer (32) is fixable to a material roll, and is at least partially covered by a cover element (31). This cover element is joined to the base element by means of at least one adhesive element (33), and is joined to an end zone of the top coil (17) of the material roll by means of an adhesive layer (34) over a part of its top surface. The base element consists of a material which separates into two layers between its top and bottom surfaces when subjected to normal loading.
