The invention relates to an electronic circuit comprising a receiving part (1) which detects an incident physical signal from outside and which, as a reaction thereto, supplies an electrical signal current. The inventive circuit also comprises a control and evaluating part (2) which is assigned to the receiving part (1) and which is supplied by a supply voltage (4). The control and evaluating part is subjected to the action of the electrical signal current. An electrical evaluation signal can be tapped on the signal output (10) of the control and evaluating part. The circuit can be operated in a first operating state which operates when the supply voltage (4) is switched on and can be operated in a second idle state which remains static without consuming power when the supply voltage (4) is switched off. A closed-circuit current detector (5) is connected in parallel to the series connection comprised of the receiving part (1) and of the control and evaluating part (2). During the idle state of the circuit, i.e. when the supply voltage (4) is switched off, said detector detects the signal current supplied by the receiving part (1) and, as a reaction thereto, controls the closing operation of the circuit into the operating state.
