Production of molding comprises impregnating a textile substrate by thermally spraying molten, metallic and optionally ceramic particles onto a textile lattice fabric strip, braid, knit, or fleece so that the particles bond to the fibers with an inherent stability. The substrate is free from asbestos or inorganic fibrous material. An Independent claim is also included for the molding produced.
