An ink for a ball-point pen containing at least one organic solvent selected from the group consisting of alcohols and glycols, a resin and a colorant, which, in a state wherein a tubular ink container is filled with the ink, has a maximum spectral reflectance at 500 to 520 nm and has a ratio of maximum strength/minimum strength for spectral reflectance of 2.2 to 5.5; and a ball-point pen using the ink. In this ball-point pen, the color of the ink can be discriminated by the observation from the outside through a transparent tubular ink container and through a light-transmittable portion of the body of a ball-point pen.
