<p>A method for serving animals, such as milking dairy animals, allowed to go loose in an enclosed area, with animal stalls with a robot, said stalls having entrance (6) and exit (7) gates being controlled by a control means for being opened and/or closed. The invention also refers to an apparatus for serving animals, using the invented method. The invention improves the known method and apparatus to achieve an increased efficiency by arranging a service area (3) such as to comprise at least three stationary animal stalls (4), placing the animal stalls (4) around a robot (5) to form a central robot inner area, and arranging a displaceable service and/or milking robot (5) in said inner area, said robot (5) being associated with said control means and being capable of moving to and serving each one of the animal stalls (4). The efficiency is further increased by arranging a strolling area between the outer border (2) of the enclosed area (10) and the central robot area with animal stalls (4) and dividing said strolling area (10) into subareas in various ways by the use of separation means (9, 11) which also may comprise controlled one-way passing gates (14) for the animals.</p> |
