The stirrer consists of a frame holding a motor whose shaft (5) runs between two stiffening strips (8) that carry a bearing (9) at their ends. Two flat blades (7) form the stirrer paddles. In operation the blades are passed through the floor slit until the wheels (11) touch the floor so that the stirrer can then be swiveled about them. The stirrer is slung by a strap (23) over a hook (30) at the end of the arm of a support frame. Preferred Features: Depending on the stirrer used the fixings of strap (23) can be placed in a number of positions (22) on the motor frame so that the equipment is well balanced. The stirrer can be lowered manually or by a hydraulic cylinder (36) that swivels the support arm. In another version of the support frame, made as an inverted U from channels whose opening face each other, guide wheels are fitted outside wheels (11) of the stirrer to run inside the channels. This steadies the stirrer, especially when wire ropes are used to lower it.
