METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRANSFERRING FLAT MAIL ITEMS

Flat mail items that are stacked on top of each other and located in a first container are transferred to a second container that is open at the top and that is placed in vertical position in a manner such that both containers are dimensioned, supported and moved in such a way that the first container is inserted into the second container and the opening side of the first container is oriented towards the bottom of the second container. The first container is moved and/or the mail items are held during displacement in the first container in such a way that the mail items remain in the first container. The opening side wall of the first container that is inserted into the second container is opened when the mail items are placed in vertical position. The first container is then removed from the second container.
