A mixing valve (100) receives fluid from a first source and fluid from a second source and outputs a mixture of the fluids. The mixing valve (100) includes a valve body (112) including a first fluid inlet (124a), a first fluid chamber (124b), a second fluid inlet (126a), a second fluid chamber (126b) and a fluid outlet (128). The mixing valve (100) further comprises a fluid flow regulator (116) mounted within the housing (112), wherein a lower surface (A) of the fluid flow regulator (116) is disposed within the first fluid chamber (124b) and an upper surface (B) of the fluid flow regulator (116) is disposed within the second fluid chamber (126b). The fluid flow regulator (116) is mounted within the valve body (112) in such a way as to permit movement of the fluid flow regulator (116) along a longitudinal axis of the valve body (112). The fluid flow regulator (116) includes a central hub (200) which extends below the lower surface (220) into the mixing chamber (160). A temperature-sensing device (114) is mounted to the central hub (200) of the fluid flow regulator (116) and is constructed and arranged for sensing a temperature of fluid which flows from the mixing chamber (160) to the outlet (128).
