Artificial wood inlay, especially for furniture, inlay manufacturing process and method for producing a rotating press tool for continuous production of the inlay

A dough or paste of pine-based wood flour(4) and a cold setting adhesive binder(5) is pressed to shape while cold and then solidified by drying in air. Independent claims are made for: (1) an artificial wood inlay(1) with a flat or arched attachment side(1a); and a patterned visible side(10); (2) a manufacturing method for a press tool for continuous production of the inlay in which: i) a polymer is cast around an original model in a box and cured to form a primary mold; ii) a thermoplastic material is poured into the mold to form a flat first copy; iii) the copy is bent and mounted in a hollow cylinder with an end seal and cylindrical core; iv) the cavity of the cylinder is filled with a polymer which after curing is removed from the cylinder to give a cylindrical secondary tool. Preferred Features: The inlay may be laid continuously in a groove in a wooden carrier and adhered to the latter using the adhesive binder(5). The dough may also be pressed into a suitable shape or pattern, e.g. a rosette, or is pressed onto and/or around a wooden or laminate carrier.
