A television signal suitable for each viewer is automatically selected and received. Individual data of the viewer are registered in advance. In a registering method, there are a method for directly registering the individual data from a code register section 107 by the viewer using a remote controller and an IC card setting said data thereto, and a method for registering said data (accumulated to a database 108) in advance to a specific agency. A proper code for selecting the television signal suitable for each viewer is determined on the basis of said registered data and is stored to a memory section 103. When the data are registered to said agency, the data are transmitted through an internet, etc. and are stored to the memory section 103.
