DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING SETTING LAMP OF LASER PRINTER FROM OVERHEATING

PURPOSE: A device and a method for preventing the setting lamp of a laser printer from overheating is provided to prevent a lamp from overheating in advance by automatically stopping a lamp motion if a regular time passes after operating the lamp. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing a setting lamp from overheating is composed of:a temperature sensing unit generating a sensing signal by sensing the temperature of a heat roller; a lamp control circuit feeding a lamp control signal to a lamp switching circuit depending whether the temperature sensing value of the heat roller is normal or not; a lamp switching circuit driving the lamp as conducting by supplying power when inputting a lamp on signal from the lamp control circuit; a count circuit feeding a counting signal that informs a CPU of the arrival of an overheat setting value when reaching the set overheat setting value by driving a counter when inputting the lamp on signal to the lamp switching circuit; and the CPU stopping the lamp motion by intercepting supplying power to the lamp when feeding the counting signal from the count circuit.
