PURPOSE: A signal detecting method at a voice code decoder is provided to diminish call processing time required for discriminating a signal concerning the call, to exactly detect dual tone multi-frequency using the linear prediction coefficient and to transmit message. CONSTITUTION: A signal detecting method at a voice code decoder comprising the steps of: receiving a voice data from an exchanger after call establishing of a service center of the base and identifying the need of control and state confirmation of a mobile terminal; generating a corresponding multi-frequency signal and transmitting to a voice code decoder(102) by dual tone multi-frequency signal generator(105) in the case that the control and state confirmation of the mobile terminal is required; transmitting the voice data to the voice code decoder(102) by the service center(106) in the case that the control and state confirmation of the mobile terminal is not required; and receiving the dual tone multi-frequency signal and detecting dual tone multi-frequency signal using the corresponding linear prediction coefficient by the voice code decoder(102).
