<p>A method and apparatus for reclaiming cellulosic fibers from a bale containing waste papers, in which the bale is positioned in a treatment enclosure, and the enclosure is placed under a vacuum. A treating fluid is drawn into the enclosure, which penetrates the bale interior spaces, and produces a preferential swelling-of uncontaminated cellulosic fibers. After the treating fluid is withdrawn from the enclosure, a slurrying fluid is passed through the bale contents, to form a fiber-fluid suspension slurry.</p> |
