PURPOSE: An automatic distinguishing device of a video signal is provided to distinguish an ON PAL signal, using a NTSC and a PAL to a luminance and a color by utilizing a phase difference of a bust signal. CONSTITUTION: An automatic distinguishing device of a video signal comprises: a synchronization separator; a reset pulse oscillator; a burst signal; a counter; a burst gate section; a first delaying section; a first add operator for outputting output of the burst gate section and output of the first delaying section; a second add operator for output of the burst gate section and output of the second delaying section; a first/second rectifying section; a first/second low frequency pass filters; a first/second comparing section; a band-pass filter; a third rectifying section; a third low-pass filter; a third comparing section; and a micro-processor.
