PURPOSE: A metal tank is provided to store a fluid while resisting a gas pressure such as a fuel tank of a motor vehicle, an evaporator and a condenser of a refrigerator, and a heating radiator of a building. CONSTITUTION: The invention discloses the manufacture of a metal tank comprising the following steps:coating a strip of sheet steel with a thermally adhesive polymer based layer, preparing segments provided with assembly zones from the blanks of the coated sheet, assembling the segments at the assembly zones, consolidating the assembly by cold mechanical assembling means and heating to activate bonding of the polymer layers in contact at the assembly zones. The invention is useful in particular for manufacturing fuel tanks and heat exchangers. |
