PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for guiding a direction conversion between a cross point from a destination using a wireless modem is provided, which installs a wireless modem in a car navigation device and receives a path guiding signal from a destination outputted from a host computer, and outputs the received signal to a driver CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for guiding a direction conversion between a cross point from a destination using a wireless modem comprises: a GPS receiver (10) for receiving a GPS data; a key input unit (120) for inputting a destination; a gyro sensor (130) for detecting a variable angle; a car speed sensor (140) for sensing a speed of a car; a sound output unit (160) for outputting a guiding broadcast to the driver; a microcomputer (150) for controlling an operation of an entire system; a wireless modem (200) for transmitting/receiving a destination coordinate data and a current position coordinate DAT; a host computer (300) for computing a direction conversion data and transmitting/receiving the direction conversion data; and a base station (400) for performing a data transmitting/receiving translation. Thereby, it is possible to decrease the cost for embodying a car navigation system to a car.
