PURPOSE: A fire extinguishing safety device of a gas range is provided to prevent the safety accidents by suspending the supply of gas even in incomplete fire extinguishing when shock is given to the gas range or the gas range is inclined. CONSTITUTION: The fire extinguishing safety device combined with a mercury switch(51) containing mercury and installed in the middle of the electric wire to connect a thermo coupling(47) with an electronic valve(45) of the fire extinguishing safety device.; Herein, the mercury switch comprises:an airtight container; a certain level of liquid mercury contained in the airtight container; and a terminal having its end to be stained with the mercury and to be connected with the thermo coupling and the electronic valve when the gas range is normally and horizontally placed.; Herein, if the gas range is inclined or inverted, the mercury in the mercury switch gets together to one place, and one terminal(75) is not touched with the liquid mercury(71). And the thermo coupling and the electronic valve are closed electrically. Accordingly, the operation of the electronic valve is suspended and the gas flowing hole(53) is closed. Therefore, the gas is not flowed out toward the burner.
