The length of a filled patty is varied by altering the position of an end portion 6 of increased thickness on a tube 2 relative to a nozzles 5 by turning a handle 14 connected by a roller 12 and eccentric stub 13 to the tube 2 through which a filling flows; a spring biased lock 15 locks the handle in any desired position by locating in peripheral holes 17 in a plate 16. In operation, dough flows from an inlet (3) into an annular space 9 formed by the tube 2 and a body 1, eventually passing the end 6 and emerging from the nozzle, while a filling is passed intermittently down the interior of the tube 2 to be surrounded by the dough. A cutter (18) on the nozzle cuts the dough at the intervals between the filling portions. The position of the tube 2 and hence the length of patties is varied during feed of dough, which takes place at constant pressure. Various fillings may be used. |
