The signal processing method involves detecting a modem by at least one of the transceiver units within a base station, a repeater station, or a mobile handset. When the modem signal is detected the transceiver unit is switched into a modem mode. The mode switching initiates disconnection of the adaptive differential pulse code modulation and switching to a modem signal waveform coding mode. The spectrum of the transmitted or received signal is evaluated when modem signal is detected. |
