The invention relates to a load indicator (1) for indicating the tensile stress on traction elements (2), especially on a lashing strap or rope. A loop or eyelet (3) is provided in the traction element for catching an adaptation part (4), e.g. a shackle or a bracing ratchet with a bolt (5) as the stopping element. Said adaptation element introduces a counter-retention force to the traction element (2). The load indicator (1) is positioned in the loop or eyelet (3), so that it rests on the opposite inner flanks thereof, and expands said loop/eyelet slightly when there is zero stress on the traction element. Said load indicator (1) comprises an indicator body which can be compressed in a crosswise direction to the longitudinal course of the inner flanks (6, 7) of the traction element eyelet (3), and contains contact areas which act upon the inner flanks (6, 7) of the traction element eyelet (3). The distance (8) between said contact areas acts as a load indicator which decreases as the tensile stress increases and increases as the tensile stress decreases. |
