A refrigerator comprises a one-piece liner 1 and a horizontal partition 2 dividing the refrigerator into an upper freezer compartment 3 and a lower storage compartment 4. The partition comprises a sheet member 10 having flanges secured to liner 1, a recessed body 16 of foamed plastics material, an evaporator 7 in said recess, a removable cover 21 of foamed plastics material supported on the body 16, a removable sheet member 22 overlying the cover 21, and a fan 32 having its supporting frame 33 moulded in the body 16. The evaporator chamber is in communication with the storage compartment through passages 56 in body 16 and with the freezer through the space between the front portions 41 and 20 of cover 21 and body 16 respectively, said space being provided with louvres 45 formed in a mullion 46. The fan discharges to compartment 4 through a passage 58 in body 16 and an opening 59 in member 10, and to compartment 3 via a tunnel 49 which accommodates an ice-tray 52. A metal pan 26 having an opening 27 is provided beneath the evaporator for discharging defrost water through a passage 28 in body 16 to a channel 29 in member 10 which directs the water over the rear wall of compartment 4. A drain 30 discharges the water to the machinery compartment.
