A metal article of e.g. Cu, Ni, Co or Fe is coated by heating at 543 to 621‹C., with the exclusion of air, in a pack containing (per cent by weight) Al 4 to 10, Cr 10 to 30, SiC 58 to 86, and a halide carrier, e.g. NH 4 Br or NH 4 Cl or Al or Ni halides, 0-2 to 1. The particle sizes are: - Al less than 149 (microns), Cr less than 150, SiC less than 840 and halide carrier less than 297. |
