When the package material consists of an interior plastics layer or a carrying layer of paper or cardboard, the carrying layer may be removed and the plastics layer kept intact. Alternatively both layers may be removed and a strip of plastics material disposed to overlap inside the longitudinal joint 9. The material may be reduced in thickness by machining or punching. |
