PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce postcard printing process time while keeping toner fixing property and sharp image formation by having a single latent image forming speed and to prevent errors in calculation of the amount of a residual toner resulting from variations in conveying speed. SOLUTION: During postcard printing, conveying speed is changed to low speed before insertion of a postcard into a fixing roller 114 after formation of a latent image on a photoreceptor drum 108, so that the period during which the postcard is conveyed at low speed can be minimized. While the postcard is being conveyed at low speed, the delay of the conveying speed caused by the repeated turning on and off of the transfer voltage of a transfer part 111 allows a voltage applied to the postcard to increase relatively, thus preventing the image from being fouled. Further, the sampling period of a toner sensor is extended to prevent errors in calculation of the amount of the residual toner. |
