<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to deal with a Text signal in the same way as a picture signal by using one field memory by converting the number of bits of an input picture signal, outputting a picture signal, storing the signal in the field memory and converting the number of bits of the picture signal. SOLUTION: An HLPF: 2Y, 2U and 2V, a VLPF: 4, H converters 3Y, 3U and 3V, and V converters 8Y, 8U and 8V decimate pixels from a luminance signal Y and color difference signals U and V which convert a 4:4:4 picture signal consisting of RGB signals with a matrix, and contract them. This picture signal is converted from 24 into 12 bit by a 24/12 converter 10 and 12 bit data stored in a field memory 11 are read and converted into 24 bit by a 12/24 converter 12. This is magnified by a switch circuit 13, memories 14Y, 14U, 14V, 15Y, 15U and 15V, V converters 17Y, 17U and 17V and H converters 19Y, 19U and 19V to obtain a display signal respectively.</p> |
