PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved navigation method and system in which relatively flexible course planning and course calculation can be performed while taking account of utilization of a public traffic means by a user. SOLUTION: The navigation system 100 receives a desired goal and an instantaneous address through an input unit 12, e.g. a keyboard. Alternatively, an instantaneous address is determined by a GPS receiver and transmitted to a course calculation unit 10 which calculates a course to the goal based on a data concerning to traffic road network received from a data storage unit 14 and presents the course and travel instructions on a display 16. A first unit 18 transmits the distance data of a public traffic means to the course calculation unit in addition to a map data from the storage unit and a travel course being calculated by the course calculation unit may includes public traffic means. |
