PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To leave contents of a message from a specific caller to recording, depending on importance by effectively utilizing a memory or the like. SOLUTION: This communication device has an automatic recording function that closes a communication line with respect to a call from an unspecified caller in the case of absence or pretended absence and records a message from the caller to an automatic recording area of a RAM and acquires an identification number as notice information relating to a caller in the case of making a call. A CPU registers an identification number of a desired destination to an EEPROM as a specific number, depending on a registration operation by the user. Then the CPU discriminates (S12) whether or not the identification number acquired actually in the case of a call from an unspecified caller matches with the specific number that has been registered already. When the identification number matches the special number (S12: YES), a message from the caller is stored in a special area provided separately from an automatic recording area of the RAM.
