PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rewrite a startup part according to information read from an exchangeable recording medium. SOLUTION: A flash memory 105 stores firmware containing the startup part. The rewrite of the startup part is performed based on information, which is read out by an FDD 107 and recorded on an FD 108. Concretely, the program of the new startup part based on version-up or the like is supplied from the FDD 107 and processing for writing such a program in the flash memory 105 or the like is performed. The program related to the rewrite of the startup part can be stored in the flash memory 105 or can be supplied from the FD 108 as well. In this case, a change such as the rewrite of a main processing part in the firmware or setting of a control microcomputer 106 is performed with the rewrite of the startup part.
