PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image fiber terminal which makes it possible to improve the processing accuracy at the time of mounting of a mouthpiece at this image fiber terminal and polishing this mouthpiece, to prevent the chipping and peeling of a black resin, to improve appearance and to decrease the reflected light at the mouthpiece end face. SOLUTION: The image fiber terminal has the mouthpiece 7. This mouthpiece 7 is columnar in its external shape and is formed with a through-hole in which an image fiber 2 of a circular shape is inserted and mounted on its central axis. This through-hole consists of a large-diameter part which is made large in diameter in the portion on its incident end side and a small-diameter part which is made small in the portion on its exit end side. In addition, a recessed part 23 is formed at the end on the exit end side of the mouthpiece 7. The shape of this recessed part is formed to a conical shape. The black resin 11 consisting of an epoxy resin, etc., is packed in the recessed part 12 of the mouthpiece 7 and is cured. Such end is formed by inserting and fixing the image fiber 2 subjected to leading into the through-hole of the mouthpiece 7, then finishing the mouthpiece end face 7a by polishing.
