PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to produce a head up display device which is joined with a combiner and a supporting member without affecting appearance by consisting both of the combiner and the supporting member of thermoplastic resins and joining the combiner and the supporting member by welding. SOLUTION: A tool horn 1 of an ultrasonic welding machine is lowered from the upper part and the base surface of a combiner holder 3 by the supporting member is pressurized. The state that the bottom end face of the combiner 2 and the inner base surface of the recessed part of the combiner holder 3 are pressurized in contact with each other is then attained. The vibration by ultrasonic waves is applied to both for about one second in this state, by which the combiner 2 and the combiner holder 3 are welded and joined. As a joining principle, the ultrasonic vibration from the tool horn 1 of the ultrasonic welding machine propagates in the combiner holder 3 and energy is concentrated to the bottom end face of the combiner 2 and the recessed part base surface of the combiner holder 3 in contact with each other. The combiner and the combiner holder are thus welded and instantaneously joined by the heat generating, softening and melting phenomenon of the thermoplastic resin and a conceivable effect.
