PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the quantity of heating sufficient for a clean water heating system for supplying hot water by heating with the exhaust heat of an engine as a heat source and heating with the heat of condensation of a refrigerant as a heat source. SOLUTION: A cold and heat switching heat pump system employs a heat pump system having a compressor 3 having an engine 2 as a drive source, a heat exchanger 4 operated as an evaporator or a condenser and a cold and hot selector valve 5 as main elements. The heat pump system comprises a clean water heating system 16 for supplying hot water having a first heat exchanger 10 for performing a heat exchange between the cooling water system of an engine and it and a second heat exchanger 11 provided in the upstream side of the first heat exchanger of the clean water heating system for supplying hot water. The second heat exchanger 11 can be operated as the condenser of the heat pump system.
