PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boiler in which the emission of carbon dioxide can be curtailed and the running cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: The boiler comprises a combustion chamber 2 in which combustion by gas fuel is executed, an electric heater 7 arranged around the combustion chamber 2, and a water supply device that supplies water to the circumference of the electric heater 7. Supplied water is made hot water by the electric heater 7 in the night time, and this hot water is heated by combustion by gas fuel. Further, the boiler comprises a combustion chamber 2 in which combustion by gas fuel is executed, an electric heater 7 arranged around the combustion chamber 2, and a circulating pipeline for heating the supplied water inside a storage tank that is separately installed, by means of the combustion by gas fuel and of the electric heater 7.
