PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress coming off of a solid from the surface of a paste type cadmium electrode in which a carbon powder conductive layer is formed on the surface of an active material, and enhance oxygen gas absorbing characteristics. SOLUTION: Short fibers 1 having a water repellent part in its part are arranged across a conductive layer 2 and an active material layer 3 so as to link both layers 2, 3. The short fibers 1 are a twisting formed by spirally twining water repellent resin (fluororesin) fibers with other resin (polyolefin) fibers, 0.5-2 mm long, and 10-30 μm thick. |
