PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the rate at which an image forming device such as a color laser beam printer wastes paper by preventing formation of blank images when forming a plurality of images at the same time by use of an intermediate transfer medium. SOLUTION: When a printer 101 receives print data transmitted from a host computer 100, a controller 102 performs serial communications with an engine side CPU 103 to control printing. Also, video data are fed to an image modulating part 104, and its modulation signal causes a laser beam from a laser beam emitting part 105 to irradiate an image carrier to effect the processes of latent image formation, development, transfer, and fixing. In that case, when a plurality of images are formed at the same time by use of an intermediate transfer body, the CPU 103 masks an image corresponding to the time when no paper is present in a paper feeding part designated for each image formed on the intermediate transfer body, and inhibits the feeding of paper to the image masked. |
